John was badly injured in Vietnam . He had multiple things wrong. He was out and about as well as could be expected , even had a Corvette for some years. He did pass away many years ago.I believe it was in the late 70's ,early 80's.
I went all through school with John from the 1st grade , lived about 6 blocks from us . John was a good boy , always loved him.
Thanks, Sharon. Having moved away from East St. Louis area long, long ago, I lost touch with nearly everyone. I often wonder about people, even yourself -- as I look at my 1963 yearbook -- and try to guess how everyone turned out. I split my time between Texas and Florida, but maybe one of these days I will make it back to Illinois for a reunion. In the meantime, "Live long and prosper."
Saw John Crum in either October, 1966 or June, 1968 as that is the only times I returned to
East St Louis. He had been a Marine in Vietnam and was injured from an explosive devise. I remember how he seemed to have a good attitude and was so easy to talk to about when we were in school. A really great guy. I believe his brothe Don, who was in my sisters class 1965, also served in the Marines.
John passed away on 4/20/1993 in Dundas Illinois, he is buried at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Belleville, Illinois. You can view details on Find A Grave website under John Thomas Crum. RIP and thank you for your service

The last I heard about John was that he had been injured in Vietnam. I do not know that as a fact, but only as a rumor.Sharon Smith (Robinson)
